Lud village is located in Baihar tehsil of Balaghat district in Madhya Pradesh. It is situated 36km away from sub-district headquarter Baihar (tehsildar office) and 52km away from district headquarter Balaghat. People belongs to Baiga and Gond predominantly in village. Village literacy rate is 54.4% and the Female Literacy rate is 25.0%. Embed Project is working in village lud since year 2021 to eliminate mosquito borne disease malaria. Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh Background Tanda village located at Bhamora block, Bareilly. It has 41 Kms. From district headquarter, Bareilly. Village has 345 household and 2042 population as per resource mapping. This villages have more affected the malaria fever last four years. Save the life- A Collaborative Victory in Mosquito Larva Reduction-EMBED MEERUT

In this scenario, we have a situation where a field worker from the EMBED Project of Family Health India, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) named Sonika visits a slum called Lallapura Nai Basti in Meerut. During her visit, she discovers two large containers of water that are filled with mosquito larvae. Recognizing the potential danger of mosquito-borne diseases, Sonika takes the initiative to counsel the family living there about the risks associated with mosquito breeding sites and urges them to remove the water from the containers and place them in a dry area. However, the family faces a challenge as there is no available dry area to empty the containers, and the containers are too heavy to move. In response, Sonika contacts her supervisor for assistance. Badebodenar village under block Badekilepal 16 km far from Jagdalpur, Bastar district mostly Trible people used to live. Every month Behaviour Change Facilitator (BCCF) visits every house of the village to improve knowledge, health seeking behavior and to control of Malaria and Dengue. During VHND day at Anganwadi centre BCCF visited to support on 10 August 2021 he noticed one pregnant woman was not at VHND centre. BCCF Rupal singh and ANM visited that woman place to know the reason why she was not attended VHND day. Then BCCF and ANM met that woman and ANM told the pregnant to attend VHND, but she was not ready to go and refused because she feared of vaccination. Choti Pakaria, Ayodhya Das, Lucknow is small basti with 150 families, Fogging or any mosquito breeding prevention activity was not done. Our BCCF talked to community members and community volunteer about available possibilities of such activities, and they suggested to do fogging which can be done by Lucknow Nagar Nigam, By Coordination of Sector Sabhasad Mr.Sameem Ahmad, they wrote letter and arranged a fogging vehicle which is now doing fogging at regular intervals. Now the community members themselves follow-up of fogging vehicle if they find any delay in fogging. Now BCCF using this as an example for other basti/slums to do such activities rather to waiting some one else to do for them. Prayas: Dengue, Malaria and Zika awareness in Kanpur

K.D.A Colony Rampuram, Kanpur is a semi posh area. which comes under embed project. BCCF is doing source reduction at this place due to Zika control and awareness campaign. During the survey, BCCF visited Ram Bahadur Singh who is not supportive and not willing to share any information about fever or any source of mosquito breeding place. Continuous efforts done by BCCF by showing IEC/BCC poster to Ram Bahadur and explained very calmly everything related to dengue malaria and zika. The strenuous efforts of BCCF succeeded in changing the behaviour of Ram Bahadur. Ram Bahadur showed interest and agreed to do testing of pregnant woman of his family and gave access to team to check larva sources of the house.
